Detailed design and implementation of several sections of the City of Johannesburg BRT from Parktown via Rosebank to Sandton to Sunninghill and Alexandra to Sandton and most recently from Parktown to Alexandra via Louis Botha Avenue.

The infrastructure had to be integrated with the Gautrain Stations at Rosebank and Sandton.

Innovative intersections and signal designs were proposed to meet the challenge of optimizing BRT operations and mixed traffic capacity and flow, including the management of diverted traffic to alternative corridors.

The retro-fitting of a BRT system onto an existing urban road system poses many design challenges which call for innovative design and traffic management solutions.
