The Saglepie to Tappita section of the corridor (61 km) is being developed in Design Build and Transfer model with financing from the World Bank and the Liberia Reconstruction Trust Fund (LRTF). The project extends the recently constructed Monrovia-Ganta road under the Output and Performance based Road Contracting (OPRC) contracts on that route. The project is similar to the OPRC in that a limited maintenance phase is included.

The Monitoring/Supervision Consultat will oversee the design, construction, and handing over to the Client/IIU-MPW, under a OPRC and a Design Build and Transfer (DBT) Contract for the Rehabilitation/Construction of the Saglepie to Tappita Road Section (61 km). The exisitng road is gravel single carriageway of average width 6.5 to 7.0 m. The project Road has several cross-drainage structures (culverts, bridges over strams and rivers) and one rail over bridge (12 bridges-new construction and reconstruction, 14 bus bays, 7 villages, 7 major towns, 2km of concrete pavements).

The works involve development of a 2-lane highway with shoulders.
