The upgrading works follow the existing road alignment for most of the 138 km from town of Cuamba including Cuamba town roads to the western side of the of Muita. The existing road is between 6 and 10 m wide (one carriageway, two lanes).

Two new bridges will be built and two bridges will be widening. A new road bridges will be constructed in Muambesi, Lussungasse Rivers, and a 17m with one span and 34 m long bridge with two spans namely.

The new bridges will have the spans in reinforced concrete and precast beams. The project includes upgrading works under Double Bituminous Surface Treatment, and rehabilitation and widening works of urban roads.

Hydraulic: road surface drainage with the drainage of stormwater runoff from the road surface and the surfaces adjacent. Subsurface drainage and Erosion protection measures.
